* Opening night, Thursday September 10th, is "TENTACLES", a co-production with (and at) The Western Front (303 E 8th Ave) featuring "Flying Machines" by Elliot Vaughan and Elysse Cheadle, streetside cabaret by Québec's astounding Steve Normandin in his third consecutive year with us, and headlining act Angélica Negrón of Balún with Shayna Dunkelman, bringing some fresh sounds from Puerto Rico by way of Brooklyn. http://tentacles.brownpapertickets.com
* Friday September 11th at the Wise Hall (1882 Adanac) you can find "DEEP SQUEEZE" with The Wayward Hearts, shadow puppetry and visceral sounds from Victoria's Svetka and the Raven, instrumental mayhem from Bellingham's Lucas Hicks with Rattletrap Ruckus, and the headliner -- a Vancouver album release party with Wendy McNeill (now hanging her hat in Spain) featuring the Squeezebox Circle Orchestra! With all that plus interstitial acts from local cabaret artists, how can you go wrong? http://deepsqueeze.brownpapertickets.com
* Saturday night, September 12th, we pull out all the stops (sorry, that should read: activate the "Master" set of reed blocks) at "DAVY JONES’ DANCE HALL", also at the Wise Hall, our festival's mainstage night with Halifax's Kate & Rich duo, Victoria's Compassion Gorilla, and an album release by Acc Noir Fest mainstay and patron saint Geoff Berner, who circumstances have conspired to make MIA at our last two fests. This time he pays it all back with interest! Furthermore, the evening is hosted by Vancouver's own Ana Bon-Bon, recently returned from years abroad toasting London with her unique squeezy take on rhythm 'n blues. http://davyjonesdancehall.brownpapertickets.com
* Wrapping it all up, Sunday Sept 13th we wind down with the "DIVER’S BELL LOUNGE" in the afternoon at Spartacus Books (3378 Findlay Street), a free event with Steve Normandin, the Kate & Rich duo, accordion repair by Montreal's Melodona, and variety (what do you mean that's not what they meant by DIVERS?) community and youth performances. Maybe even a parade, weather permitting! (Do you know how to attach an umbrella to an accordion? Maybe Melodona has a secret technique!)
