Ruined brithday night

Decided to go here on my BIRTHDAY and had a guest list done. I never got a confirmation e-mail and normally you can get in til 11pm at clubs if you have a guestlist. Well guess what it was 10:15pm and I couldnt get in because their cutout was at 10pm...Lets just say this ruined all my birthday plans, the guestlist woman that takes care of this didn't give 2 5h17s if it was my birthday or not, I ended up leaving with all my guests and I will not recommend this place nor come back here again.

Go to 560 Instead

Just want to let all of the hot tourists know that Celebrities is not the premiere gay club in this city, 560 (Saturday night) is hands down. Celebrities makes a fake line up so people have to wait even when it's dead inside. They have a large cover charge considering how dingy and run down the place is. They need to have a serious renovation. The floors are always super sticky. The bathrooms are gross. The lighting system is from another decade. The music is really blah....it's dated and they play the same thing week after week. (You can hear the same stuff on the radio.) The crowd this place attracts is also fairly dated (at least in terms of clothes and hairstyles.) This compared to 560 (5 stars) which has awesome house music, a clean atmosphere, 2 dance floors, modern lighting and the same cover charge!! (And the guys here are WAY hotter and everyone is well dressed.) That having been said, if you can get past how gross the place is, tuesday's straight night is actually quite fun.

It's okay...

Celebs is probably the most popular gay night club in Vancouver. Everyone knows it. I actually like the music and while the staff is pretty gay the crowd usually isn't. Tuesdays and Fridays are basically straight night. Saturdays used to be gay but not really. Thursdays has had the gayest crowd so far but even still there will always be a handful of straights at Celebs. It's the only club that I know of where straight girls go by themselves instead of with their gay friends and because of that straight boys follow. So yeah it's become more of a gay friendly night club then gay per se. Haven't been on Wednesdays but I figure it's probably the gayest night because they have like gay bingo and drag night. They're adding a new night: Latin Night on Mondays. Hopefully this will be more gay but I seriously doubt it.
