It's time for the 4th annual Queer As Funk Vancouver Pride kick-off show. This sells out every single year, get your tickets early.
Everyone is welcome! LGBTTIQQ2SA and allies!
It started, like most good ideas, over beer and song. A few short years later, Queer as Funk is renowned for its tight rhythm section, hot horns, and killer vocals, bringing together the city’s best musicians in an explosive, high-energy dance band. There's nothing this tight-knit band loves more than performing together, and that love is palpable to audiences everywhere.
"There's nowt so queer as folk", or so the old English adage goes. Queer As Funk believes in celebrating differences, and what better way than with a big ol' dance party?
With special guest, the Queen of Canadian Soul, the sensational Dawn Pemberton!
Beautiful harmonies by East Van's own acapella soul quartet, What It Is! Featuring Mimi Beyene, Cass King, Patti Powell and Carol Wiedemann!
The incredible Djslade Macdoog will be joining us onstage!
Advance tix $41.50 through Ticketmaster, including service charges.
Hardcopy tickets at Highlife Records (support your local music store, AND save on service fees!).
The Commodore Ballroom is wheelchair and scooter accessible. Elevator access is available through the main entrance on Granville Street.
