Let's Talk About Sex, Baby. The STI edition

Let's talk about all the good things and the bad things, nothing is bad it is all manageable! This event is in response to the current increase in STI transmission in North America. Our goal is to educate in a sex positive, body positive, trans inclusive, queer space. The All Bodies safer sex package is a goal for us so we will have a smorgasboard of harm reduction items for folks to choose from. Every one can create what works for them and would be the best package. Let's all take notice. Our guest speakers: Jenn Matsui De Roo, MA RCC is a clinical counsellor with a specialization in sexuality and sexual health. Jenn will share ways to talk with your sexual health care provider to help you get the best and most informed care. They’ll also discuss shame-free, proactive and empowering ways to talk about sexual health with partners, all in the interest of having better and hotter sex! Emily Sollows, BN, RN with STI certification will discuss testing and it's types, as well as risk factors with the sex you are having. Michelle Reed, A representative of Karmik, and Munroe Ro owner and founder, will discuss harm reduction. Kevin Moroso received his BA in Art History and Critical Studies in Sexuality, along with his MBA, from the University of British Columbia. He currently writes for Daily Xtra, Positive Living Magazine, and TheHomoCulture.com and is on the Board of Directors of the Health Initiative for Men. He dedicates himself to creating a more sex positive world and building a stronger gay community. Kevin will talk about how PrEP can help prevent an HIV-negative person from getting HIV from sex or injection-drug-use, and why we need it as a communiy. Jaedyn Starr uses a collaborative and compassionate approach to facilitate workshops that question, and challenge traditional representations of communication, relationships, and gender. Jaedyn recently completed a Bachelor of Education at SFU and looks forward to supporting safe spaces for queer and ally youth and adults. Jaedyn's goal as a facilitator, educator, and community member is to provide opportunities for everyone to reflect on how we can contribute to a culture of safety and social inclusion for all. Jaedyn is on the Trans and Gender-Variant Inclusion Steering Committee for the Vancouver Parks Board and a board member for The Frank Theatre Company. Jaedyn is also a non-binary math tutor for elementary and high school youth (currently accepting students for next year)! We will have a Q&A after, so you can ask the professional. Ms. Frizzle is coming to give the class a lesson. This event is a fundraiser for the Vancouver Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence.
