Celebrating 40 Years of Music at VCC
2014/15 marks the 40th anniversary of the School of Music at VCC. Alumni, former faculty, and music enthusiasts are invited to join the faculty and students of the School of Music on Saturday February 28 for an exciting
evening of music, laughter, and celebration at VCC's Broadway campus.
The festivities begin at 7 pm in the VCC Auditorium with a concert hostedby Rick Cluff, host of the CBC-Radio "Early Edition" show. Ken Morrison, School of Music Department Head, will deliver a welcome and the keynote address. This will be followed by a performance featuring the diverse
talents of our stellar VCC music faculty, including Alan Matheson, Kate Hammett-Vaughan, Peter Hannan, Paula Kremer, David Branter, François Houle, and many others.
After the concert, the fun moves next door to a reception in the B Building Event Space. Here there will be an opportunity for participants to relax, mingle, converse, and reminisce, while enjoying snacks, light refreshments, and a no-host bar. The music will continue with performances
by the Willan Choir, The VCC Concert Choir, and the Madrigal Singers.
The evening will conclude with a dance featuring the salsa sounds of the VCC Latin Jazz Ensemble and the funky beats of the Steely Dan-inspired Bad Sneakers ensemble.
