[The Network] is the University of British Columbia’s queer graduate student association. Our mission is to provide a community for queer graduate students across all departments of the university to both collaborate and socialize. Our regular social gatherings, called “First Fridays” are held at 6:00 pm on the first Friday of each month at a local Vancouver pub. These are informal gatherings that often draw attendance of up to 20-40 people. They are now fairly well established and advertised via our mailing list and through the graduate student society at UBC.
For our next 'First Friday' event on March 1st at the Speakeasy pub on Davie street at 6pm, we would like to extend the invitation to those who attended UBC, graduated professionals within Vancouver, and anyone else who could benefit from an opportunity to network with the graduate students at UBC. We believe this is a good opportunity for interaction between those early and late in their careers, and would help build familiarity with your organizations, members, and events. We currently draw students from a wide variety of backgrounds including, but not limited to, psychology, business, education, library science, engineering, computer science, physics, biology, ecology, gender studies, law, music and medicine.
We are heading back to Davie this month at the Speakeasy pub. Please feel free to invite anyone you feel might be interested to this facebook event.
LOOK FOR THE RAINBOW FLAGS.
