We went around 1 during pride from another bar (another 20.00 cover), and it was amazing. Odyssey was packed (though I didn't have to wait in line--take your shirt of to get in?) of hot, sweaty, dancing shirtless boys. I had so much fun dancing, though everyone I met wasn't from vancouver. I will head back to Odyssey every time I visit.

I have been to clubs all over Canada and some in Europe. This club had bad music (almost as bad as the horrible DJ in Twisted Element in Calgary) and a pretty lame atmosphere. No offense to anybody but the guys were not that pretty and the crowd was not cool.

Shower Power was cool but the clientele reminded me of high school & way too many girls! Atmosphere was pretentious & not enough bar stations!

I hope if they are able to relocate at the end of the year when they loose their lease thats they have all new sound and lighting and half decent washrooms. The current location is a dive and the bathrooms are disgraceful. The sound system is just so so and they no longer give you a good stiff pour and don't put out pitchers of water for those that have had enough. Anyways hopefully they will be better in the future.

Younger crowd, but entertaining. if you are into drag shows there are plenty and Thursday (strippers) and Saturday (guys in the shower) are always good. The crowd can be mixed on occassion, but that is Vancouver, - if you don't like the fact that more than a few straight people hang out in gay bars, - Vancouver is not for you!

If they want to hold onto their gay male clientele they'd better be a little more selective of who they allow in.
This past Saturday there was a "bacherolette" party. That's right - about 30 straight women took over the dancefloor. We bailed (and so did a lot of others) after about 30 minutes.

OK you may not agree but if you are into music it's the best dance bar. If you are into guys they range in age and body type. The patrons will generally talk to you once they are drunk - mostly guys but a smattering of hip dykes too. The bartenders have been there forever and know everyone. Drag shows are good, gogo boys good, shower power will make the straight girls from your office talk for two weeks! Not at all snobby.
So, what do you say?
