great staff & the music wasn't bad at all! The bar itself is pretty dated & the dance floor is TINY but was a lot of fun just the same :)

This bar is exactly the same as it was when it first opened 28 years ago. It was fixed up a few years ago to look exactly the same. They are too cheap to hire decent DJs with taste so every Friday and Saturday night its the same third rate DJ that has no taste in music playing the same crap; year after year. Its worth paying the slightly higher cover charge at The Odyssey or Celebrities or The Majestic; at least there are some attractive gay guys at these places. Bad music is guaranteed. The owner doesn't want to spend any cash so why not sell and let someone else breathe some new life into it?; its a great layout and a waste when there are so few places to go in Vancouver. The previous review was obviously written by one of the staff.

Some bars in Vancouver claim to be gay bars, but they are not really and this puts some gay guys off. Numbers is not like that. Its been around for 28 years. The lights and sound are great and if you don't like the main levels you can go upstairs.
Various events throughout the week with Karoke on Sunday and Wednesday, with amateur strip, Latino night, best butt and rock night on alternating Mondays. Nice mixed crowd, no attitute, nice staff.

It's all in the theme here. Amateur strip night is so hit and miss. This place is always voted "best place to pick up a man". No more needs to be said - except that there are pool tables and you can drink while you play (a rarity in vancity for some reason). The decor is straight outta 1972, but that is so unusual for vancouver that it seems kinda cool. Latino night once a month is the best.
So, what do you say?
